Planning a visit to the Michael Schwartz Library

The Michael Schwartz Library is located in Rhodes Tower at Cleveland State University. Library spaces are on the first eight floors, and entry is through the Rhodes Tower lobby on the plaza level.

Library location

Rhodes Tower is located between Euclid Avenue and Chester Avenue, and between East 21st and East 22nd streets in downtown Cleveland.

The CSU campus map lists Rhodes Tower as RT and identifies the Michael Schwartz Library at 1860 East 22nd Street.

Driving directions

Before traveling to campus, check CSU Parking and Transportation Services for the latest parking updates, maps, and visitor information.

  • From the south via I-77: Take I-77 north to the East 22nd Street exit and continue north toward Euclid Avenue.
  • From the south via I-71: Take I-71 north to the East 22nd Street exit and continue north toward Euclid Avenue.
  • From the east via I-90: Take I-90 west to the Chester Avenue/CSU exit, then continue toward campus from East 24th Street and Chester Avenue.
  • From the west via I-90: Take I-90 east to the East 22nd Street exit and continue north toward Euclid Avenue.
  • From the west via Route 2: Follow Route 2 east to I-77/I-71 south, then take the Chester Avenue/CSU exit and approach campus from East 24th Street.

Visitor parking

Visitor parking is available in several campus garages and lots for a fee, subject to space availability. CSU Parking and Transportation Services provides current visitor parking details, including locations, rates, and payment instructions.

The university’s parking maps also show visitor and short-term parking areas across campus.

Accessible parking

Accessible parking is available across campus. Visitors using disability parking spaces must display a valid state-issued disability placard and should follow current university parking guidance for payment and parking rules.

Public transportation

Cleveland State University is served by Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority bus and rail service. Downtown Cleveland is also accessible from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and by Amtrak service.
